Based on what I observed (as a local uni grad), those who entered MBB/Top-tier Consulting Firms usually fulfill the following criteria:
- Minimum first-class honors: The higher the better; safe area = >4.75/5.00.
- Possesses case experience: School case club, or, Conjunct consulting.
- Strong interview skills: Good communication skills. Logical thinking. Strong case-cracking skills (e.g. guesstimation).
- Relevant internships: Management consulting internships. Research internships. Corporate finance internships.
- Extra-curricular track record: Leadership position. Case club. School representative/Champion for case competitions.
- 1 unique characteristic: Something that defines you uniquely, that separates you from the rest of the candidates who also possess the above skills. For example, do you have an interestingly unique hobby/talent?

You would most likely be given at least a first round interview if you possess the above mentioned criteria. From there onwards, it'll all be based on luck/ability/fit/how much the interviewers like you.

Sounds like a new concept in town.

Did a quick search and here are my thoughts:
- Firm seems to be relatively new, and thus may be unproven (although they placed some anonymous "success stories" on their website)
- Employees have a good backgrounds. That is, they are holding good positions in MBB. Thus, they could provide good insights, training and connections.
- Based on their website, they said that success rate through Aetius is 30%-45%. Sounds really attractive, but I don't know how that'll be possible.

The recruiting for MBBs are usually structured; that is, you can rarely get in by networking. To get in, you need to be of a certain calibre (intelligence, GPA, logical thinking, etc.). They are highly selective; I don't see how going through a programme can have a 30%-45% chance of getting you in. How does their business model even work?? What if 1000 students apply to their programme?

Having said that, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and here's what I will do:
1) Apply to them and ask for the fees as well as evidence of pass success rate. Then, weigh in your options.
2) At this point, I would imagine that they will be unable to prove that you have a 30%-45% chance of getting in. They may claim confidentiality of applicants.
3) Try to move things around: Change the way fees are structured. For example, instead of a lump sum tuition fee, try to negotiate for a "Base Fee + Success Fee". That is, in the scenarios that:
- You managed to get into MBB: You give them higher fees than the original lump sum fee
- You did not manage to get into MBB: You only pay a minimal base fee. Further. by justifying that their claim of "30%-45%" success rate is simply impossible, try to negotiate for an even lower minimal base fee - or even a refund.
