Career prospects of analyst role in insurance department

Hi all,

Just want your opinions on this, what are the career prospects of an analyst role in the insurance department of a HR consulting company?

Some of the job scope include:
Ttechnical analysis of plans from feasibility study to utilization, costing analysis, preparing reports on financial results and utilization of insurance plans, updating databases, liaising with clients etc

I have a Bachelor in Science (Statistics) and have 2 years of exp in market research. I'm currently considering if I should switch to the finance industry or continue doing market research/analysis. So I'm wondering how beneficial will this role be as a stepping stone into the finance industry? Or should I continue doing market research/analysis, which seems to be relatively small market? What I want is a job which deals with figures, does analysis work and of course, pays well.

Any inputs will be appreciated. Thanks!
