Sorry for bumping this old thread... I just want to ask, is having an Ivy-League masters still so worthless??? I thought that it would be better than having a Masters from a lower tier university but from this thread that doesn't seem to be the case? |

Pay Little info about SMRT: from annual report 2010 go to website Top 6 earners in SMRT only 1 engineer-trained and the oldest. (age=62) Engineering (age= 39) Accountancy (age 50) Human Resource (age 46) Science (age 46) NUS Arts (age 55) Biochemistry Engineering pay is really good? Think again. |

NUS is also ivy-leagued in Asia. usually people look at 1st degree first. SMU ivy-leagued? Why their graduates can earn 4k -12k fresh? |

tough times... I have somewhat similar experience, got offered the $3k plus salary, thought it was a joke, but didn't have a choice since I needed a job. Don't forget that you're competing with cheaper, more desperate FT in SG.... my advice is to TAKE THE JOB NOW, work for a couple years, then move back to US if that's still what u want then. |

Pay's a bit low Hey your pay's a bit low from what I know. You seem to be drawing the same pay as any other 2nd lower degree. Your Master's don't seem to count. My info: 2nd Upper NUS is 3.7k for an engineering job. |

to the OP jobseeker seems u found your big break on this forum . so hows the job so far? btw, an IL education can only get u so far. i would suggest u forget about starting pay or how much u get for starters, and focus on the prospects of the career ascension. there are dip holders i met making in excess of 30 -40k in the fin industry. but started really measly pay. u just need the opening now to the right opening in the future. i'd see it that way. |
