On a side note, if a job requires g50 clearance, how long does it usually take? have been given a verbal offer package but still have not signed due to pending g50 |

Not representative of all civil service hiring process but here's my experience with a ministry for your reference. submitted a couple of applications to the same ministry over a 4 months period. only the last one did I receive a call after approximately 2 weeks since application. the status in careers@gov really depends on each hr. I have some submitted months ago that are still in submitted status. |

Wah. I thought it's the responsibility of the HR dept to regularly check for applications and forward them accordingly to hiring managers for consideration. I'm surprised HR can just let these applications pile up unattended. Guess I'll ask them about it nearer to the 30 days limit. Thanks. |

allstar | For what I understand, U must call them to ask for the application status, cos I seldom get reply from them even though they said will let me know the outcome in 30 days. |

Civil service job application waiting time Usually how long does a hiring organization from the civil service take to contact a candidate after application closes? I have one that closed 2 weeks ago, and still no news. Officially, the careers@gov portal says a response can be expected within 30 days. But the application status reported by the system still shows "Submitted" and not even "Processed". Is it a sign that high chance the organization is not interested (rejected) or not actively hiring, so just collecting resumes for future hiring opportunities? |
