Unregistered I used to intern at IE before, and it's not true that scholars are given priority, even tho there are a handful of scholars. I've heard of cases where seniors get poached by other companies because they already know the markets/sectors very well. I think it depends on what department you will be working in too because the exposure you get varies!

Unregistered prospects will always be limited as long as you are not a scholar.

Unregistered what are you working as?

the pace will be slow, mostly policy making i guess. you will have lots of connections with private companies. but whether you can move on with the skills learned is another matter. the private sector pace is fast. you have better luck with moving to government jobs in future. good luck.

Working in Stat board and transferablity of skills

Hi all, I have been offered a job in a statutory board (IE Singapore). (Stat board in under MTI).

Just wondering if the skills I am going to pick up there will be useful should I wish to move to private sector in the future? Any experience to share?

I just graduated not long ago.

Thank you very much for kind advice & sharing.
