You don't sound like you have any idea what you want to do except some super vague idea of doing sales in the industry that you happen to be working now. Seeing that you are in a vulnerable stage of your life with family commitments and mortgages to pay, I suggest you stay put and don't do silly things. If you jump into sales and cannot meet monthly targets, the low basic + no incentive will kill you fast even if company don't sack you. Also high chance you will not get back the same job on the same pay. |

Do you have other commitment outside of work? Like family, mortgages, loans and other financial commitment? If yes, are you willing to take a pay cut and jeopardize your financial health? Would it affect and impact those dependent on you? If not, then can go for it. |

advised on career switch Hi... was wondering whether with 5 years background of aviation planning experience and an I.T. 2nd upper degree, possible to jump industry or not? disappointed that not much progression and also not many options available too with my experience as current job quite niche in terms of job scope. Did some semicon service jobs before going into aviation line... was thinking of going to sales as pay might be better. Considering also civil service, but seems like my degree which i got studying part time, does not seems to making headways for me.... Any advise to share? Deeply appreciated...thanks |
