Private is not looking stable this year, the middle management could possibly get cut. This is especially true for with US or HK based company.

Unregistered Depends on which jobs you apply for.

Policy-related jobs are usually only for 2.1 Hons grads from local or top overseas unis.

For operational-related jobs, possible, but different ministries/stat boards recognise different unis so private uni students probably stand a better chance in trying for the less prestigious/popular stat boards and ministries.

Unregistered I have a couple of colleague from aussie universities. I have no whether if they are treated equally as local grads but one of them is still a mx 12 after 5 years. I have no idea abt his salary either.

And four to five months? That's possible in uniform group, but for other govt jobs, it's usually on a good year then that's possible.

There is no hardcore evidence that non local grads warrants a ZERO chance in civil service.

The public service salary is not low but rather goes in line with

a severely structured salary system
your scheme of service (AO, scholar, MX etc)
years of graduate relevant working experiences.
