I would say Blackrock. Many of the people here do not know what Blackrock is. On the other hand, it has excellent reputation on the international scale and I believe would provide better opportunities should you try to do a lateral transfer into FO. |

Asset Management Ops role: Blackrock vs GIC Background: I was in banking wealth management investment operation role in a foreign bank for over a year. Currently working major project system implementation. Job scope was pretty routine, not really stressful once you get the hang of it. Still exploring my career options in the area of asset management which is view as a safe haven in this current climate. I went for several interviews with the fund houses. Anyone can advise the future career prospect and the pay package for entry level role? Based on information gathered on glass, basic compensation range from 40-45k. Blackrock seems to underpay and had poor working hours but it has now become the leader in this industry after several mergers. GIC still relatively unknown globally but offer competitive pay package |
