Unregistered dont care what age you lost your job. Just keep that financial account in check. Dont have any unnecessary debts if possible. You can be a high ranking role but still take in debt.

Coming back to this topic, of course many had lost their jobs due to covid. To sustain business, need have cuts somewhere. At the same time, many new job opportunities appeared. you gotta do what you gotta do. Kena let go from a previous job with higher pay?Take paycuts and go for other jobs.

I left my job in early 2020 having planned to take a little break from slogging and go for a short holiday. But the pandemic struck, disrupting my plans.

Then switched back to slacking/rotting in Sg.... then about few months later started to find jobs. Went for a handful of interviews.

Got lucky and landed a job in late 2020.

That's good. Heard that many people changed or upgraded jobs successfully during this period.

the jobs that they once held no longer exist and the new jobs that appear are totally different, not just the job itsef but the culture of the comapny that does these new jobs do not fit these folks

doesnt mean your workplace did not have downsizing, the rest of the country is the same. During the covid peak period, alot companies had to let go their employees to sustain their business. Even then, many companies did experienced losses.

True that you mentioned the pilots and cabin crew. However, alot of singaporeans did experienced getting let go or having pay cuts.
