My current company is very good. We structure hierarchy to paper qualifications regardless of your performance or potential, no paper no promotion. Unlike mmc so messy anyone who perform can promote. Like that no one wants to study degree already.

How old are you bro? Are you still studying, fresh grad or had been working for few years?

As a student or fresh graduate, it's really important to identify exactly the career that you want to do. It might be management consulting, business development, digital marketing,...

After you identify the job, you can learn what that job is all about, the career path, the day-to-day work, the salary, the skills, etc,... Most importantly you need to get the inside scoop from industry professionals.

TalentTribe actually just launched the waitlist where they feature over 100 career tracks which are super helpful for students and fresh grads. Each career track covers everything you need to know to choose and land your career. You can join the waitlist here

Well I'm sure the States will have their own set of problems as well. Singapore is indeed restrictive and the debilitating culture of valuing paper qualifications over track records pushed me out of my comfort zone after 2 years in a government linked company as I don't have a degree. 6 years on in a MNC gave me new perspectives and I'm very glad to be approached for this position vacated by a retired colleague that I also know. I guess I have been plain lucky to be at the right place and right time. There are good opportunities in Singapore as well if you look in the right places. Thanks for the well wishes!!

After consideration, I have decided to take the job and relocate. My gf says she is willing to join me and is supportive of my decision. Just spoke to the management and did a teams call with the colleagues in the local team. Will be doing a teams call tonight with my US team to discuss about my role. If things go as planned, I will be leaving by early next quarter. Thanks all.
