Unregistered Guess not all fields are created equal.

Just look at the survey from NTU. Some degree win other degree hands down

20 yrs ago, freshgrad chemist can earn 3.5 K, now still 3.5 K
20 yrs ago, freshgrad engineer can earn 3.5 - 4 K, now still at same range.

People now flock to Computer science cause fresh grad easily get 5 K. Once RPA become the new norm, 20 yrs later, CS graduate will still be taking 5 K.
I agree with this. I joined a Jap MNC doing chemist role in 2006. Grad with 2nd upper from NUS Chemistry. They offered me 3.5 K back then.

Now i working in a US MNC, those new recruit for chemist role still only kena offered 3.5 K. I did not progress well and is only a Snr Chemist after 15 yrs (changed 3 jobs) but at least now I bring home 9 K plus.

I see those new recruit take 3.5 K i also feel sad. 15 yrs ago, 3.5K was enough for me to get a car, now they take 3.5 K want buy motor also think twice

Unregistered Is best to ask them what they like instead of planning for them.

Our Children's Future in Singapore

Would you share your plans regarding your children's future in Singapore?

Everywhere I turn I see parents spending time and money, furiously preparing their kids in academic, music, sports etc. Will their efforts produce results? Do they have a choice ?
