The One Holland Village Showflat Launch
 
There will be a new launch coming soon, called One Holland Village, that is near Kent Ridge Hill Residences. This will be a mixed development, located in the heart of Holland Village itself. It will be a very interesting project, as it will occupy a rare site, in a well-loved location. One Holland Village will comprise a commercial and retail component, with lots of public spaces and squares, in addition to the residential units.

The residential units will be different from other projects. There are 3 types of them. The low-rise ones that reflect the shophouses around Jalan Mambong, the high rise ones in the tower, and then the luxury ones. This One Holland Village site drew a high number of bid. And even then, the winning bid wasn't based on just price alone. Far East Organisation, the developer for One Holland Village, was one of 5 bidders shortlisted based on design first, before being awarded based on price.

Their winning design was said to respect and enhance the existing fabric and ambience of the location. Far East has not yet indicated when the One Holland Village condo showflat will be ready for the launch, nor have any details been released except for some artist's impressions. Which actually do look pretty good, and interesting, especially the ideas for the public squares and gardens. Currently, the competing projects in the area would be Wilshire Residences that just launched for sale not too long ago, and the new project that will replace Olina Lodge. However both these projects lack the sheer convenience of One Holland Village, to both the MRT station, and the shopping and eating places around.
