Whistling in the West
 

The latest upcoming launch to start marketing activities is the Whistler Grand condo by City Developments (CDL Pegasus Pte Ltd). This is a 99 year leasehold condominium in the west of Singapore, at West Coast Vale.

The west side of Singapore had previously been getting less launches than the eastern region of Singapore. That balance seems to be changing a bit, though it still seems to lag somewhat behind. In the West Coast Vale area alone, before Whistler Grand, Twin VEW launched early this year, and before that, there was Parc Riviera.

Parc Riviera has sold out, while Twin VEW has sold out all its smaller units. Only the bigger unit types are left. And these are now going at about the same pricing as the Whistler Grand condo is targeting, so it looks like there won't be much problems in the marketing of this latest new project.

The name Whistler Grand is interesting. It is somewhat different from the run-of-the-mill ones that are Something Residences, and so on. Where CDL got the inspiration from is anyone's guess though.

And one thing at least that we can depend on, with CDL as the developer, are good unit layout plans. CDL has a long history and track record of developing quality condominiums, with space efficient and practical layouts. We can expect to see a range of unit types as well, from one bedroom apartments, all the way up to 5 bedders, as there will be 718 units in this development.
