Contradicting Idiots? I dont think so.
They are mostly worried about having to downgrade their lofty lifestyles. Condo or landed, 2 cars, maids to take care of them, dining out at restaurants, golfing holidays etc.
They just cannot accept living in HDB and taking the crowded trains and buses.
But then you say "they have millions what, why so kiasi?" It is because they are well aware of the burn rate of their current lifestyle and they know only too well how long their fortune will last them once they stopped working. They are certainly no idiots unless they got their wealth from striking toto

According to them, retire at 60, fully paid condo/landed and car...
Mthly expenses: maid, restaurant, hotel food, holiday..
May be spending 100k pa?? But with wealth of few millions, and passive income from investment of 7% (in most of their post).. what is the problem.. I really think that there are many wannabe here just day dreaming of becoming multi millionaires yet cant even tell a logical lie... and they are probably the same person with different identity.. formal banker, ib banker, property agent.. but one thing in common, high flyers with high net worth... but worry about the same thing.. can I retire at 65 with 5 million cash, 2 landed, 3 D10 condo, 2 BMW, all fully paid, passive income from dividend stock.... yielding 100kpa... but tell stupid illogical lies..

Depends on your perspective. If you're another millionaire, its interesting to see what UBS sends and compare it to the introductory letter you got for your private bank. If you haven't made it yet, but hope to make it, it's interesting to see something which you aspire for. If you are in the class which probably won't make it, or young and won't see it for 20 years, you might think it's showing off. Haha
