Return on my ordinary account has been roughly 6-7% for the past 10 years. I don't use CPF for property because I can borrow USD or SGD for about 0.8-0.9% currently. Interest and dividends on my CPF alone give me about $3,500 per month or about $40-50K per year. I consider myself a conservative but steady investor.

Thanks for sharing, but I don't think I'll ever reach the same level as you. I only have 900k cash + stocks. Any advice for small timer like myself?

Agree with you, mister. After a certain age, health = wealth. I realise that my spending habits are already cast in stone when I reach my 40s. So my health and time with my family is the true wealth that can be enjoyed.

Alternatively, you can also consider keeping the HDB loan but paying 40% deposit for the condo.

Investment portfolio
Seems like many folks have higher net worth now after investing in properties couple of years ago. What other things do you recon should be part of the portfolio as a way of preserving or growing your wealth?
