I am 50 years old.

Property value = $1.5 mil, fully paid.

Cash, not much only about $200K, CPF about $200K

What should I do? Thinking of retiring now, tired of all the office politics.

While property prices are still high, downgrade to a small condo.

If have children or old parent to take care of, downgrade to HDB is better.

No more good ideas left. Even if there are you won't risk your savings to try your luck.

Another option instead of selling your property outright is to rent out your current place and rent a smaller apartment instead.

This way, you arbitrage on the rent differences to get your "passive" cash flows every month.

And if private property increase in value years later (they outperform HDB), you will not lose out on the capital gains.

I'm almost 50 yrs old and am thinking of retiring. My passive income from property and stock dividends is about $250,000/year. However, there are so many people in this forum earning $200K+, I feel that if I retire and live on my $250K, all these people will soon surpass me. Should I keep on working?

If you want to feel good that you surpass most people, then go to Myanmar or some poor country. Hey, how about Greece or Italy. I hope property prices collapse and you become poor again.
