If you have no children to support, then your present situation is still not bad.

As long as you can work, you should. Cost of living can only go up. That's why our gahmen is coming up with so many goodies to help retirees. Among the retirees, I am very sure some retired many years ago thinking they had enough saved to last their retirement, only to get caught out by the rising cost of living over the years.

The CPF payout of $1200 to $1800 pm today may not buy much 15 - 20 years down the road when people start receiving the payout.

Congrats on being a millionaire couple. You have done well. Don't compare yourself with the posting in this forum, esp those claiming to earn more than $200k pa. 99% of postings here are just fantasies.

You guys are only underperforming if you compare yourself to the current generation... back in your generation you should be middle class at least. It's not so easy to own a condo and car nowadays. Be happy with what you have, condo and car is more than enough for enjoying a good life.

Totally agree. Nowadays if you own both condo and car, you are in the top 10% in terms of social status in Singapore.

You have done very well actually since you own both a condo and a car. You are in the top 10% of Spore's society.

We have the following assets (mid to late 30s)

Paid up condo: $1.8M
Paid up ppty in KL: $300K
Cash, stocks, unit trust, cpf: $1.1M
Bmw car

But somehow, having more net worth bring only satisfaction but not happiness

To be truly happy, you need to be free from being a corporate slave. Why not retire now? Since you already own a condo in KL, you can retire there. Convert your $2.9m into RM and you will get RM7m. You can retire like a rich KL biz tycoon.
