That 900 k that they mentioned takes into consideration inflation. If u convert 900k to today's dollar its less than that.

$3500 in future convert to today may only be $1500 (my guess coz I dun know the inflation rate they used). For $1500, its enough for basic living ie food and transport. No holidays, no cars, no shopping and assumption that all ur debts r clear.

If u buay tahan with $1500 a month, then too bad u dun retire, just keep working or pray ur children will support u. This is a simple fact doesnt need a rocket scientist to work that out...

You don't need much at all as long as you have a fully paid flat, kids and meet your CPF min sum.

If you meet the min sum at 55, and if both husband n wife working now, they will each get $1200 from CPF life. So you get $2400 pm.

You can rent out two spare room for $1000 per room. You get $2000 pm.

Your 2 kids give you both $1000 in total pm.

So, combined passive income is $5400 pm. This is a lot for a retired couple.

All this is possible if:

1. You both meet CPF life min sum.
2. We have many FTs to rent our spare rooms.
3. You have 2 good kids to give you allowance.

This is the secret for happy retirement.

Most ppl will have enough to retire seriously. The extra money is just a matter of face ie John have a larger dick than me, so I need to enlarge my dick also. I mean if retirement no enuff, why I still see so many old ppl sitting around under void deck chit chatting? Shouldnt they be working?

If really retirement no enuff, then go work lah or **** off from this country. I am sure humans are smart enuff not to let themselves perish when facing difficulties, I mean havent our ancestors been doing that ever since we were apes lol
