Tax

Hi I am a US citizen that will be working in Singapore starting in a couple months.

How much Tax will I need to pay in Singapore and in my home Country (USA) yearly?

Thanks, any info will be greatly appreciated..

Hi,

You need to provide more information on your duration of stay and if you are PR,EP holder etc

For a start, for singapore tax, the main point it to determine if you are a tax resident in Singapore.

You are deemed a tax resident of singapore if you meet the following criteria :
1. Singapore or Singapore PR holder
2. Foreigner who stayed in Singapore for above 183 days or more.

You can read more about your applicable tax rate here :
IRAS: Income tax rates

There are also special tax schemes established which can help you.

1. not ordinary resident tax scheme.
IRAS: Not Ordinarily Resident (NOR) Scheme

2. Area Representative tax scheme.
IRAS: Area Representative Scheme

I am not 100% sure of US tax laws so i will not comment on how to avoid double taxation.

No double tax

Pay US government net of whatever need to pay if in US less $x.
