Looking to join civil service so I can leave on time, what pay grade should I aim for? Willing to take 20k pay cut to 180k per annum which should be comfy for my lifestyle now.

Also which stat board should I apply?
Either u r trolling or u r some siao lang. Maybe you can apply for IMH, but it's not a stat board

No pain, no gain. And you can't join civil service/stat board with expectations of $180k renumeration package. You would be lucky enough to get $180k Indian Rupee per month.

200k package need Director level, most non-scholars won't even get there by the time they retire unless consistent very strong performers. Don't fantasize civil service going to pay you trader money while allowing you to go 9-5 slacking for the rest of your life.

but I heard MAS employs traders too? If it's similar job scope should be relatively competitive pay... I am okay with a little pay cut to get work life balance back. I don't mind being director level in civil as long as not too much stress and **** work

Also it's considered mid level entry right... So they will look at my 3rd class and not work experience?

Salary wise, no MX scheme can match it. While there isn't much room for promotion, the income ceiling should be substantially higher than the MX's ceiling for a typical non-scholar.

Have you passed the written test?
Nope, i have yet to apply.

Is it difficult to get in? What is the profile of the individuals in the economics service?

Thank you very much for your thoughtful replies...

Many overseas scholars, the rest are from the 3 local unis. Masters are common.

The hr will scan through all the resumes and identify those who has Second upper or above. The resume will then be passed to the senior economists to assess if you deserve to sit for the written test.

Majority will fail the test. Those who passed it will get to be interviewed by a panel of directors or senior economists.
