Thanks for the advice.
I''l bear that in mind.
I'm just toying with the idea and not sure if the stat boards/GLC/ministries will take in someone directly into the MX10 scale.

Chance of promotion
Hi, been working in a stat board for 6yrs as mx12 and getting only average grade every yr. However, this yr I was given $278 annual increment for a C grade thou (unusually higher annual increment from past yrs).
Can I know under what kinda circumstances wld an officer get this kinda higher than usual annual increment? What's the chance of promotion? Been feeling rather demoralized with no progress all these yrs thou been performing well acc to my supervisor

The higher than usual annual increment could be due to your boss wanting to reward u for good performance. But it is not related to promotion, unfortunately.
Promotion is dependent on your boss, the annual quota in your department and your CEP. It is important to note that promotion and performance are Not strongly correlated. Potential is the more important determinant. That is the rule of the game, as we all know it in the civil service.

You're still early in the game. Can't really tell your max potential yet.
If you don't feel appreciated or job satisfaction, should consider changing jobs but not necessary quitting. I requested an inter-departmental transfer and had never look back since i.e. faster career progression and greater job satisfaction despite more challenging environment.

If I'm not mistaken, the ceiling should be ~$7K for highest ranking MSO
