Just wondering the how much a 2nd upper with NS will command... $4,100??

yo you get this info from MOE website??
the 4350 is the ceiling cap for MX13 after few year of working without promotion, it is not the 1st class salary with NS..
I got this from home affair website also for it MX13 officer, which should be must more relevant for info
Home Affairs Senior Executive(under MX13 scheme)
Entry Salary
1st Class Honours Degree>>>$3,752/$3,384
2nd Class Honours (Upper) Degree>>>$3,568/$3,200
Other Honours Degree>>>$3,438/$3,070
Pass Degree (With Merit)>>>$3,288/$2,920
Pass Degree>>>$3,088/$2,720
for your case 1st class with NS = 3752, no NS = 3384

Just to clarify, the salary is obtained from MCYS website.
I presume it is the same across the ministry..
if that's the case like you said, then it seems to be misleading... cuz they indicated starting salary.
Nevertheless, anyone got any info on this? For info, Fresh Grad signing on airforce is getting $4000 - $4700+. So it might be true that 1st class getting $4,300 for MX13.

MX schemes are for ministries (well, most).
From what I know, we can separate them into different tiers if we are looking at salary for fresh grads:
some stat boards like NHB, NAC, SSC, NLB get lesser.
followed by ministries like MOH, MOE and MEWR.
economist schemes, MOF, MHA, MAS, EDB, IE singapore etc get more.
SAF, RSAF, navy, police and other uniformed stat boards/organisations get more.
administrative service scheme get the most.

Anyone knows the starting pay difference between MAS and MTI? Is stat board or the ministry better for prospects?

If you are looking are MAS and MTI, I would say MAS provides more opportunities and exposure in general.
Info: sharing from friends in MAS, don't trust completely

Hi all, may I ask if say during an interview, the hr asks what other job offers do you currently have, what would be the best answer to give?

Always say no other offer and not considering other jobs. If you answer yes, the hr will trap you by saying so if another offer come which one you take up? You will be trap with no good answer
1. Depend who come back first - Not serious in job, just take up whatever comes along
2. Depend on pay / benefit - Money face
3. Depend on job scope / boss - So now that you hear us, you still not satisfy with us? You don't even know what you want?
Everyone knows its all about money, the hr know also, but they still ask this kind of question to trap candidates. I kana a few times before.

Saying not considering other jobs at all is a sure-backfire answer if u r a fresh grad. cmon, fresh grad no exp, u only apply one job? hr will surely know u r lying thru ur teeth and ur integrity will be questioned. maybe only for experienced specialists can use this answer. even so, no one will oni apply one job, aiming for a single coy. shows how narrow-minded one is. i was asked this qn b4, i was honest and told them i had other offers, but backed it up saying i prob prefer the one im interviewing for and give a strong reason. With this, i told them to get back to me asap. And i got the job (a stat board) within 2 days
