U will not find it in anywhere that explicitly & categorically states whether SIM (or any private school degrees) are recognised or not. But as a former civil servant, perhaps i can shed some light in this matter. In a typical civil service job opening which is published in the papers or internet, there will be many many applicants. These are highly abled applicants from local Uni & foreign Uni... that I meant physically flying over to top notch Uni such as Imperial or Carnegie Mellon, not SIM or MDIS. As such, SIM dont stand a chance, at all.

However, if u do have connections or know the hiring manager, it IS possible to join the civil service. U may even be given a decent starting grade (e.g. MX grades) in the degree holders realm.

All said, i think this is absolutely logical and reasonable...no tinge of contradiction. In one of the earlier posts in another thread, there was this question of why the difference between...say, "Warwick degree via SIM" versus "attaining the degree at Warwick campus in UK". Well, in actuality, it is a straight forward thing.

thx for the insights. will forward to my friend. so much for the ''sim fees are subsidised by govt, thus it is still considered a recognised uni'' ******** huh lol

Below is probably true if you're a generalist. But if you're specialised and skilled, there is no problem getting any government or private sector jobs. I do know of several agencies still having difficulties filling up specialised IT jobs, esp IT security. In fact, they even compete among themselves for the same small local talent pool.
