Is it true that government agencies under ministry of finance are good paymasters?
Acra, Iras, Tote Board, AGD.
Ministry Of Finance - About Us
I just realized Singapore Customs in under MOF! But their uniform makes them look like they're from Home Team.

Of course not true. While the 'high' in private sector can be very high, the majority of the private sector jobs are not paying as well as govt ones, for jobs with comparable level of responsibilities, scope, real/actual working hours and demand.

generally slow compared to ministries. even if you consider 3 instead of 4 increments, it's about 800/3=266/yr which is quite low.

Whats the pay like in NEA and IRAS
Hi everyone,
Thinking of joining NEA or IRAS. Am a graduate with a high merit pass.
Anyone has any idea what is the pay and working environment like for:
1) IRAS Tax Officer
2) NEA Executive (contract management)
Thanks for the replies in advance!

I don't think this is slow. Yearly increment of 200 plus is about the average in a stat board for someone who has worked for 4 years.

I agree with you. Govt sector jobs pays well and will continue to be so for many years to come because they are subject to less competition from the global talent pool. Real wages for the average worker in pte sector will be driven down by these competition and only those at the top get the cherries.
