what is the usual amount for MX12's annual merit increment? Are there any other increment other than merit and promotion?

Does anyone know for the 2 tiers within each MX grade number, how oes one get from the lower tier to the higher tier?
When people in the civil service say that getting 2 B grades means a promotion, does that mean a promotino from the lower to the higher, or between numbers?
ie, if someone is MX11(Lower), does a promotion mean to MX10(Lower) or MX11(Higher).
If the latter, does it then mean it will take 2 promotions to get a change in grade?

Since the 2012 wage adjustment is ~10%, add 10% to the above value.

As far as I know, only MX11-12 got 10% increment. MX10 got 5%. Not sure if there is any increment for the rest of the MX grades. So cannot just blindly multiply 10% to the figures above.

So the adjustment will take effective from FEB2012 ???
And then in APR2012, will have the annual Merit increment , will be getting abt 200-500 more.....
so if your salary is 4100 now, can I say by MAY2012 , after wage adjustment + merit increment.....you will be getting very close to 5K

from what i heard, there will still be the annual merit increment in April. So all in all, will have 10% increment (less than $500) from this salary revision and an annual merit increment in April (less than $400). So will get about $5600+. A bit hao lian but glad to be able to meet my childhood target to earn more than $5000 before 30 (29 this year) =)) Not scholar and just a local uni graduate/farmer.

promotion means from one MX to the next (i.e. MX11 to MX10). There is no such thing as being promoted to a higher grade within the same MX. One gets from the lower tier to higher tier through the annual merit increment. Like the word merit suggests, it is dependent on the officer's performance. Better performance = higher merit increment.

The max of lower bracket is a salary bar. If u dun perform, u can't cross e bar... No more increment and no promo....
