no we studied abroad. 1st class yah. he is 5.3k. honestly, i dont even think the class of honours makes a difference to starting. but he did masters, i dont know if that helps your starting? people told me it doesnt. dont know how true....
lol

1st class getting 5.3k in ministry after 1 year plus!!!!

That is alot!!!

I suppose ur BF is not under MX scheme, he should be under economist scheme or legal scheme or engineering scheme in the ministry...

he study law? if that's the case 1st class + NS, the starting pay for legal service in ministry is abt 4.5k already, after 1 year getting 5.3k is ok ma.

note that the "with NS" for male can get additional 300-500 more salary than female if both are 1st class

Age: 26

Oct 2010 - Apr 2011: 6mths contact working in Stat Board. (2.7k)
Apr 2011 - now: join a new Stat Board... but still given same salary as previous stat board.

Previous employee history: working part time in bank as website developer.

Your distance learning degree is not worth anything for government organizations. The thing about stat board / civil service is that salary is fixed and not negotiable. Your jumping around different boards will not help in getting more money because they all use roughly the same salary table.

If you really want to get a boost in pay, you need to go private sector and smoke your way through for interviews. For a distance degree with no honors, 2.7k is very generous already.

your 1st stat board, you work as what, what type of job, scope, role?

Is the jobscope in 1st stat board same as the 2nd stat board?

Depends on what you mean by future. I’m sure the yearly increments and bonuses will continue as long as economy not too jialat.

If you are asking if will reach something like superscale, then of course no.

In your case most likely will reach 5k mark when ~40. Of course that is assuming that we don’t have recessions that last too long.

just passed my 1 year mark in a ministry

starting pay was 3514.13

current pay is 3864.13

2nd upper NUS with NS

I hear that fresh grads at my ministry get around 3.7k. Is this the case at other ministries?

hi all,

Are AGO (auditor general office) and AGD (Account general department) considered stat board? if yes, anyone knows the salary scheme for the these 2 departments?
I am considering either of these 2 as a career option.
