retire at SM or PrM. DD is like a CO, head of department about 20-30 people under you. Maybe top 2% of farmers get to be DD. Just count how many DD there are in a ministry. They won’t let someone without potential to lead a department for at least 5 years before retiring to be DD.

Depends on degree. If you graduated from a proper university, every 2-3 years.

If from SIM University, never. Maybe from donutboy to rubbishboy, but that's it.

first promotion is guaranteed unless you did some major fck ups on your job.
The reason why you see 1-2 years is due to the promotion cycle and joining date.
e.g. if your ministry’s promotion takes place in July and you join in December, it will take you 19 months to reach your first promotion window.

SIM/SIT/local U doesn’t matter after you enter. It’s scholar vs non-scholar. i.e SIT scholar > NUS farmer.

SIT scholar > NUS farmer, but everything and anything > SIM trash

SIT, as cui as it is, is still a proper university that grants proper degrees. The same cannot be said for SIM 'university'. There's no SIM 'scholars' for a good reason

SIT and SIM belong to the same category. Both are external degrees. SIM is more established though.
