Is she second upper? Guys and girls should have $200 difference, so if she 2019 second upper 3.5k, and my guy friend 2020 second upper 3.6k, doesn't that mean there's a bit of a cut already?

That's still too high for CS. Should get lower for jlb job

HR should have given you a brief explanation on how this scheme differs from mx scheme. What is your class of honours, ns etc

i find that a little hard to believe, specially when there is a big drive now to recruit private sector mid career hires to the public sector
and EDB is one of the better stat boards?

ya about 200. but it also depends on the HR and negotiation, which may make up the $100 different

This guy has been asking the same question for a while already. Looks like his boss is also considering other candidates meaning he beh kan possibly.

Also EDB is still a stat board. If they can offer an increment over pte sector, means his current place is not paying too well.

I’m working at a tech company with about 8-9 years of experience. 35 this year.

I earn $120, 000 base. And another 12, 000 for bonus. I get at least 12, 000 for stocks annually. This excludes other benefits like transport/ food allowances etc that come up to about 4, 500.

My question is if it’s possible to make a jump to a ministry or a stat board like edb and get a 10-15% increment? What MX level would I be pegged at?

Thinking of serving fellow Singaporeans!

This is a rant completely unrelated to this topic. Just needed an outlet to complain because doing so anywhere else would be unprofessional and make me look like a complete dick.

I have a subordinate who has openly told me that he intends to apply for a job in civil service. He is a slightly below average performer and in all honesty, based on his current performance, his future in our firm is not bright. For context, I have 4 others in the team - they are all excellent.

I generally try my best to part on good terms with all ex-colleagues (doesn't matter rank). Our industry is small and you never really know what the future holds. Karma can be quite a bitch afterall.

This subordinate tho.... he throws it in my face that he has applied for and gotten an interview for a civil service job in our field .... it almost seems as though he thinks he is great to have gotten an interview and that he's for sure going to get an offer and going to be better than all the rest of us.

His attitude has become flippant and the quality of his work has plummeted. I've pretty much had to redo his work for him to meet deadlines ever since he announced his interview.

This is the first time i've encountered such a situation....

I feel like telling him .... he needs to be more 'seng mok' and he shouldn't destroy bridges after crossing them. I also want to tell him that in all likelihood, civ service will require of him higher standards and have tougher working conditions than what he has been through in our firm... he cannot coast by being a below average performer... maybe he should try and work harder here to better himself since he hasn't gotten an offer yet....

but... would i be overstepping my boundaries? would this be too harsh? we are all millennials but the other 4 millennials are great! i just dont understand. Everyone is fighting hard to keep their jobs...this is just... unbelievable to me.
