Benchmark?
A lot of time it is hard to benchmark our salaries and even ministries say they have a band but does not disclose it. We always want more! But beware don't scale the spending up.
Truth is stranger than fiction when I see males moving up three levels in four years, because there is a gap in manpower.
Then when it comes to me, as I am a female I need to prove myself to get promoted by performance, while the rest can get promoted by potential. And you see people at the top covering each other and I can only suck it up.
I ain't getting a bad deal, just not that motivated because of how the environment keeps pushing me away.
Now working maximising the dollar. Put the savings to work in investments and others.

40 this year. Compared to my peers, I was behind when I joined. One of my peers is already 2 appointments (grade wise might be even more) higher than me. Am I doing ok or should I consider moving back to pte? Concern is of course job security but I am confident of my ability to perform.

Time to update the above
2018: 10.3k B grade annual 192k

from hearsay, yes the range is about 3.8k-4.2k depending on whether STEM related, uniformed or other factors but 4k is reasonable

Age is the worst factor.
U should ask with regard to scheme, the grade, and years on the grade.
