If you’re a fresh grad, then i think its based on the relatively fixed formula. Since its above ur expectation then all is good.

Do you mind sharing which sector and pay range and package, with some of your details (uni and age and experience) for reference. Please include gender so we can know if the pay range include NS bonus or not. Thanks!

Not very fresh: FCH + Masters + 1yr unrelated work experience (+ NS). It's a SB and offered below 4k. Cheers.

depends on your age. if your honors is from private and u complete it in 2yrs (23 yr old).. then took a masters in local U for 1 or 2 yr.. and you are offer slightly below 4k at age 25.. i think the package is reasonable

some points to consider from pointers i have collected in the thread:

(i) most of CS do not consider unrelated experience so you are possibly a 'freshie' to them. (anything less than 2-3 years in relevant scrope is unrelated)
(ii) most of CS put more weight into your bachelor degree (i.e., brand and class)
(iii) most of CS do not consider masters in your pay for relatively new starters but it may help in your career progression in long-term.

no point arguing too much because they have a formula that they go by.

having said that, you should be paid according to your bachelor FCH. mind sharing if your bachelor is local, too?

the determination should be based on your bachelor degree - is it from NTU, SMU or NUS?

sorry we need more specifics so that we can advise you.

FCH (NUS) + NS. I guess you can try risking a bit to ask if the pay when the final offer comes. A lot of time they just won't over promise at the verbal offer stage; your finalised offer is out only out when the job is approved by their various head.

The civil service won't underpay you for the qualification through their scale, don't worry too much about it. that can be rigid but since you have a local qualification, it should pay in your favour but don't bang too much on your non-relevant experience and masters degree.
