Depends on whether it is Cambridge, Oxford or not first

Curious to know: graduating in June from local uni, first class, no NS. May I know what’s the salary range if I were to join stat board/ministry?
TIA!

Two questions for your advice:
How long does it take to promote from MX12 to MX11?
What is the MI from MX12 officers with a C grade?
Thank you.

I was confirmed (MX12) in 2016 and got promoted to MX11 this year. But I didn’t serve NS so it would take a shorter time if you did.

3k gross, means
(basic before cpf) x 16 ÷ 12 =3k
Or
3k x 16 months
And this is for honours or plain pass
Curious because I think Mindef is low balling new hires and claim that my "data" is problematic.
Everyone I met tells me honours starting 4k, dunno its their ego salary or real. Maybe they take monthly basic x 16 ÷ 12.

The SB probably knows that this job scope is moderate in difficulty thus the moderate salary. Money is not everything. Give you 5k 24 hours standby 7 days a week, I think you also resign after a year.
UK with hons sounds like u flew there on site at a good uni. Maybe that's why u feel shortchanged when peers may take close to 4k. But demands of the job is different.
Very tight job market. If it aligns with your interest grab first.

Heard now it's hard to get a job so maybe it's good to just take the offer.

Agree. Even experienced hire, they only budge 100-200 dollars. Fresh grad with 2 years, take it or leave it. Especially in this employer market.
The good thing working for Gahmen, as long u take up projects and it's key into system u will be rewarded. Unlike private, you need to be valuable in boss eyes. Focus on doing well as long your salary is above 3k its reasonable.
