Thank you for your prompt reply. I majored in Economics and the role offered is that of a policy analyst.

Ahh I see. Thanks for replying! Yep, I’ve read from this forum that most FCH (be it, males or females) are getting $3.8k and above. But among these, most hold specialised positions eg. engineer, economist and defence-related. I guess I don’t have the upper hand here, so I’m accepting the offer, since policymaking is a field I’ve always wanted to pursue in.

Since you know the reason, why are you asking if you are offered lower? 3.4k is decent and you Like the job

Alot of people did not start off with such a salary. If you like higher salary, go for top programs in MNCs.

Minimum 4k and above. It is not how you started but achieving your experience and learning for your career.

ooh u r doing policymaking

then no worries, your salary and career progression will be much faster than the rest (e.g. engineers, lab analysts)

know quite a few who went for 3.5k ish to 6k is 3-5 years

scientists/teachers take 5-8 years to reach 5-6k even though their starting may be higher

Default dxea mindef

Hi all,

i’m a private degree holder currently holding 3.2k+ pay. i applied for dxea (mindef) position and they can only offer me <$3k. May i know what is the yearly increment like for dxea (is it the same as dxo) and how long will it takes me to reach my current pay?

thank you for your help!

Dont waste your time in civil service. I was a private degree holder as well and civil service is not a good place for us to get paid fairly. I am now in a top MNC with 4 years of experience overall package of over 7k.

Thank you for your reply just that i’m in the science research field and i can’t earn any high unless i go on to take masters and then pHD.. increment at my current place is <3% a year even for very good grading. so i was thinking of venturing into civil service..

You can see if there is any other companies in the private sector within this field.

But civil service is just like that. And you need to join a good company too even within the private sector.

All the best to you.
