Thanks for answering.
Haha, I had applied a job to LTA, and the status had already turned into unsuccessful in 2 days.

Graduated from local U in 2009 (fail to get hon)
Currently working in a global engineering MNC as a manager
Earning slightly more than $8000 and yearly overall bonus between 3-4months
What role can I apply? Senior manager? And hopefully getting 5-10% increment

it's hard to reach 8k salary in public service for a normal person. many do not reach that kind of pay, and those who did, typically take more than 10 years. i would suggest u to stay put.

What is the norm for graduates who started in public sector to reach around 8k monthly salary?

Not likely. If u graduated in 2009, your working experience is only 8 years. SM with 8 years of experience quite rare. The most they will give you is a MX 11 and/or 6 - 7 k..
I entered with 12 yr of experience as a manager for 7.8k more than 2 years ago (already left).

My working experience is slightly less than 8 years now. That’s a good 7.8k offer with aws, additional annual bonus of 4.5 months. Why did you leave in less than 2 years? So you are back to private sector?
Senior manager is mx11a or mx10? Or depends on ministry or agency?

I left after exactly 2 years @ 8.2k. There was a series of circumstances that led me to the public sector (previous company closed down, was getting married, so needed something fast) Yes, back in the private sector.
Depends on Ministry. The agency I was with didn't use the MX scale; that's mostly Ministries. Don't bother with the grade thing. Just look at the actual money (gross per month) and the total package. If you wanted to know, I have a friend in a Ministry at MX10. I think he was making 8k gross. (he also left earlier this year.)

Thanks for the info. Seems like it better off for me to stay put now. Just curious which Uni did u attend and faculty? Will it affect my chances and position to enter public sector because I do not even have a 3rd class honor engineering degree? In the future, I might be given an opportunity or under unforeseen circumstances, applying for public sector job openings.
Anyway 8k-8.2k monthly salary with better bonus structure at public sector is still higher than my current. Mind if I ask what is your current remuneration package? What industry are you in?

At manager level, they look for experience rather than qualifications. They barely took notice of my degrees.
I spent a stint in consulting previously and now I am back. My basic is 13k per month, gross. It would have taken me two promotions and probably 5, 6 years to get this number.
