Recently joined a stat board with a 5k basic in a specialized track,am a fresh grad and having worked here it seems the job scope is rather narrow and non transferable to private sector, anyone know if I quit my job after being here for only 1-2 years will this affect my rating in the civil service and will i be blacklisted from joining CS/SB in the future? Thanks !

That would be a question for HR to answer.
But wow, that's a really good starting pay! I have been promoted twice in the 3 years I've worked here but still earning below 5k with NS. Maybe u should consider that you're in a privileged position too, don't give it up without some proper consideration!

Iras
Hi all, was wondering if anyone could share more about the career and salary progression for IRAS. Would it be similar as the MX scheme? Thanks!

FSOs are also entitled to special bonuses not available on non-specialised schemes. Your salaries also rise at a much faster rate correspondingly.
The hours are mad though, prepare to be worked raw. Bosses aren’t sympathetic and they expect your immediate availability at all times. Prepare to be told in your face that you are stupid and incompetent. It really is a 24/7 calling for the cream of the crop and the bold.

Hi Im a fresh graduate who has just secured a position in a stat board. Assuming I’m a farmer (second upper with NS) who has an average performance, how many years will it take for me to reach 7-8k or more in the typical MX scheme? Also, I understand that there is a huge difference in progression between a scholar and a non-scholar. However, is there any difference in progression between a fch and a second upper ? Thanks much.

Which stat board? This is important. If you mean 7-8k including your bonuses, conservatively 5-7 years if you start from 4k.
There is a difference in starting salary, but no difference in progression, diff in progresion is between scholars and farmers.

If you take average $250 increment per year. Eg, if starting pay at 3.5k, it will be around 14/15 years.

That's assuming you don't get promoted.
I'm an average farmer, took me 5 years to hit $6k from 3.6k. Currently MX11.
