Compare civil service salary

Putting aside the superscalers, the vast majority of us are indeed relieved that there is no reduction in base pay.

With regard to the mid year bonus, no one is really expecting it.

4.5-5k+ starting. As usual, the actual figure depends on your class of honours, whether you completed NS, and other details. That said, virtually everyone there is first-rate or somehow or rather brilliant. A significant proportion (30%) are also law graduates or lawyers. FSOs are also entitled to special bonuses not available on non-specialised schemes. Your salaries also rise at a much faster rate correspondingly.

The hours are mad though, prepare to be worked raw. Bosses aren’t sympathetic and they expect your immediate availability at all times. Prepare to be told in your face that you are stupid and incompetent. It really is a 24/7 calling for the cream of the crop and the bold.

At my MX level, I'm still a few recession cycles away from being paycut.
