Is the pay difference fixed across each degree class?
usually around 150-200 between each class.

The benefit of civil service is they really cannot sack you.
Job security in 40s and 50s.

In pte u get sacked once you are of no value to them. A lot of professionals in 40s and 50s will get retrenched and wont find a similar job.

So in pte sector you must do some financial planning dont over stretch your later years. U get sacked and it means Foreclosure, bye bye to your house if you overstretch. But if u hardworking, you can actually earn and save up a lot.

Bad thing about civil service is pay progression is lower than peers in pte sector. Non scholars henta-kaki a bit. But you must find meaning in your job to be able to sustain that 30 years

In life is the same, do you marry a boring unattractive girl and she wont do extra marital affair.
Or you aim for a out of your league girl, then she a higher risk of extra marital affair

my advice to pte degree holders is to try your best to enter CS. joining as a full time staff is admittedly more challenging as we are competing against local degrees. you should aim for internships or temp positions, good opportunity to gain some experience, and you may be lucky enough to have the opportunity to convert to a perm staff. the pay in civil service is good, esp for fresh grads.

2012: MX 12
2013: MX 12
2014: MX 12
2015: MX 11
2016: MX 11
2017: MX 11A
2018: MX 11A
2019: MX 11 A
2020: MX 10 (Age 35: Gross 9000)

Current age 35 and reached MX 10 within 9 years of joining civil service. Thinking if I should take on another career or carry on with current job. Not sure of CEP and if can hit MX9. Any advice from kind souls on the progression of the career so far?
consider good and fast progression.
i am from private 34 this yr, join SB a year ago drawing 8.4. not sure about my pay revision this yr yet.

Default Salary Scale

Do the Ministries categorize each different class degree and pay accordingly or do they cluster certain classes together and pay you?

Most would pay $100-200 for each degree class step.

Currently sitting on an offer of mx11 6.6k in a ministry.

I 32yrs old, have 6 years of working experience and currently drawing 7k, with increment to 7.5k in 4 months time. However, the annual package as quoted to me by the mi istry (based on 15 months) will be slightly higher than my current.

Is it worth to change, considering the job scope is interesting.

Based on forum replies, it seems average bonus for ministry is 2 mths but I was told the average is 1 month during interview. Not sure if its them managing my expectations.

Usually, assuming C

It is

12 mths
+ 1 aws
+ 1 year end
+ 0.5 mid yr
+ 1 pb (assuming C-)
Total 15.5

Most people get C and has 1.2-1.5pb.

But from last year’s trend
12 + 1 + 0.45 + 0.1 + 1 = 14.55
Even if you consider a C grade that adds to 15.

We expect this year’s bonus to be meh too. So 15 sounds like a reasonable quote. Continue to work hard, and maybe can get more from pb side.
