Anyone know how much salary should I expect after 5 years with a stat board as an engineer? Starting pay $4300, after probation of one year 5k. Local grad, first class and non-scholar. Assuming avg performance.

You will have to ask the engineers. I know a girl who got her first job in a stat board with a local degree (non FCH) in 2019. Her starting pay is $3300. MX scheme.

Yes should be this year. Starting to receive election letters already. Hence pay increment should come before election somehow

Whats the rationale that pay adjustment comes before an election? Our economy is already going to face a tech recession soon, how does that justify for a pay adjustment to us?

Agree. I'm quite ticked off that they waited so long that there's now a recession coming and an upward pay adjustment is no longer justifiable. If anything the pay will now be adjusted downwards - will probably make the voters happy too.

Default Gross and Basic Salary

Hi, Im not sure if this is asked before but what is the difference between basic and gross salary?

For example (numbers are made up):

Gross monthly salary: 2000
"Your gross monthly salary is made up of 50% basic salary, 10% MVC, 9% NPC, 31% NPVP."

So what is my basic salary?

If my gross is made up of half of my basic salary, where is my other half? Why is it not made up of 100% of my basic salary?
