If you’re paid so well outside as a part time degree holder, why join the public service? Your increments are not realistic within the public service.

Some people may want to gain perm status as security for dependents - include children n aged parents
As indicated this person did not get a pay cut either, which suggests underpaid outside, maybe contractor to government. Come into public service without pay cut, take 4 months total bonus for performing average, happy to take 6k low stress just farm, it's a dream of mine too.

Definitely not underpaid as suggested. Likely want to cruise and enjoy the comfortable life.

I was from a MNC, not working on any government related project. Was lucky to have a boss that appreciate my work but unfortunately the company is not doing well and major top manegement reorg is taking place. Hence, decided to look around. joining SB is by coincidence as there is a suitable opening. Still very new in SB and trying to adapt to the culture. Need more time to see if this is the right place for me.
* pray hard *
