Pay Range for MX 13 Scheme
Hi, I have received an offer from a Ministry recently. I am a fresh graduate from a local university with FCH (non-scholar; did internship but no relevant experience). The offered salary is $3.4k. Is this considered a low starting pay for my standard? What is the typical pay range for MX 13 scheme (fresh graduates)? Thanks in advance!

Seems like a reasonable offer. Perhaps you could share with us your major in uni and the job position you have applied for?

Thank you for your prompt reply. I majored in Economics and the role offered is that of a policy analyst.

Ahh I see. Thanks for replying! Yep, I’ve read from this forum that most FCH (be it, males or females) are getting $3.8k and above. But among these, most hold specialised positions eg. engineer, economist and defence-related. I guess I don’t have the upper hand here, so I’m accepting the offer, since policymaking is a field I’ve always wanted to pursue in.

Since you know the reason, why are you asking if you are offered lower? 3.4k is decent and you Like the job

Alot of people did not start off with such a salary. If you like higher salary, go for top programs in MNCs.
Minimum 4k and above. It is not how you started but achieving your experience and learning for your career.

ooh u r doing policymaking
then no worries, your salary and career progression will be much faster than the rest (e.g. engineers, lab analysts)
know quite a few who went for 3.5k ish to 6k is 3-5 years
scientists/teachers take 5-8 years to reach 5-6k even though their starting may be higher
