Have you factored in the bonus structure between the two companies? Ministry is offering AWS + 3-4 months bonus and your current company offering? I am not sure if the pay cut you mentioned is just on the basic and I believe they will consider the annual package before giving your the offer.
If based on 3.5 months variable bonus and AWS 1 month, the annual package they are offing is $77,550 which is reasonable for 3 years experience unless you are getting above that amount now.
What is your reason to switch to Civil sector now? You may have to ask yourself about the job prospect of your current job before considering the difference in remuneration package.

Pay is likely to be above the norm since this is a specialist role...if u are able to get in then good for you (many clearances and long wait)....but future career paths is gonna be limited...due to *ahem* certain restrictions on the job...
If u are a fresh grad from local uni with 2nd uppers, best to look around and try other areas in the civil service first before going there...

Hi, anyone know about the HR policy of changing jobs between Stat Boards or Minstries? Heard there are two options. To keep current pay and service period. Or offer new pay raise but forgone service period.
On the former, can keep AWS or performance bonus?
Any truth on the above? Advise is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This is true. Can keep bonus if no pay raise.
Regret sia. Because higher salary will help you be promoted earlier if you reach ceiling.

Not to mention for all the hard work and late nights, the bonus is pathetic.
Been thinking of doing something more meaningful, something which I used to think of joining but I went with the herd mentality and went with a job base on what I studied.
Given my current situation, 31 male, overseas degree holder, 5 yrs in banking, served ns, what kind of pay will I expect to get if I decide to sign on police force (either as senior CNB officer or SPO)? I understand for degree holders the entry rank will be inspector?

Hi...
i'm almost in the same boat as you in terms of gender, age and working experience except that i'm a diploma holder.
I was in Army during NS.
I'm also thinking of joining SPF.
only reason i want to join SPF is stability. pay may not be high especially as diploma holder but at least its stable.
What makes you want to join SPF at this age?
