It is true that uniform groups usually pay more, because of additional allowances and to attract people to join them. After all, it is always harder for those in uniform groups to venture outside due to their specialised industry.

On Ministries and Stat boards, in general, stat boards do have flexibility which Ministries don't. Therefore, certain stat boards pay better than most Ministries in fact. Having said that, most Ministries will pay on par or slightly better than stat boards in general. The exception are those key stat boards (i.e. economical agencies).

Form what I gathered, the more prestigious and harder to get ones are:
- stat board driving the hype of smart nation / cyber such as IDA
- agencies under mindef because of the huge defence budget such as DSTA, DSO
- economics agencies such as edb, mti
- investment arm (GIC, Temasek)

Not sure about the ranking of these. Anyone care to discuss?

GIC and Temasek are not public sector. Their pay level for first 3 years after graduate is comparable to gov, but after that they tend to pay much higher. At senior level GIC/Temasek are comparable to top fund management firms.

This is true. It is also harder to get into GIC/ Temasek in comparison to public agencies. MTI is a Ministry, not a stat board. Stat boards under MTI are usually called Firefly agencies, aka economic agencies. These includes EDB, Spring, JTC, IESingapore, EMA, A*STAR, CCS etc.
