Hi,

To the 33 years old TS who earn 7k per month.
Do you mind sharing your starting pay, yearly increment and promotion increment (if any). People keep saying the yearly increment for civil job sucks. Does not seem like so for your case. Thanks?

Input in this format:

Joined Year, MX Grade, Basic salary, Reasons, Performance grade
For Eg

Jul2007, MX13 - 3500
Jul2008, MX12 - 4000 (AI = +200, Promoted = + 300), B
Jul2009, MX12 - 4500 (AI = +200, Wage Adjustment = + 300), B
... and so on till Jul2015...

AI = annual increment

the various posts on increment in this forum are pretty accurate. 200++ for grade 12 and 300++ for grade 11. Promotional increment is around 500. Plus, there have been market adjustments along the way.

And these are just figures for the average / mediocre performer.

Anyone had an interview with Ministry of Finance before?

There is an essay test. Would appreciate if anyone could shed some light on it. Thanks in advance !

13th month or whatever they call it = 1 month, which is standard
End-of-year bonus = 0.7...this is a very conservative assumption, if u are aware of the amount the govt paid out over the last few years

With that the total bonus = 5.2

In all, there would be 12 + 5.2 = 17.2 months of salary.

Divide 120K by 17.2 and u will get 7K.

Is 7K at age 33 achievable if one joins the civil service right from the beginning? U wont bet against it....unless u arent from HR.

LOL
lol at thinking that most CS (including those with NS) have 7k at age 33. unless u an ave high performer, MOST people are are 5-6k at that age even if they joined at 24 (after NS).

the keyword is MOST (90%), some (8%) will reach 7-9k by 35 and the elites (2%) will have >10k salary by 35.

so if you are one of the few lousy useless person who suck his/her way to the top (which is why u r so free to post here), dont paint an overall nice picture for people genuinely looking for advice.

we know that not that all those who reach 7-9k by age 35 are motivated individuals who dont waste time on such forums but just leeching on others and sucking their bosses off and the HR knows. We gossip so much on them behind their backs we wonder why they never die from ears being over itchy or sneezing all the way to their death.

i myself only reach 6k after around 10 yrs in CS and im 34 this year. and yes, im an ave performer but 90% are anyway.
