It's not a director level. It's a Senior Manager position only.

29, male public officer with 7 yrs of experience and NS
2007 - $1800 (started off as non-graduate officer in ministry)
2008 - $2000
2009 - $2200 (completed my part-time degree in IT at UniSIM)
2010 - $2900 (resigned and joined a SB at MX13)
2011 - $3100 (received B grade)
2012 - $3700 (received B+ grade & promoted to MX12)
2013 - $4000 (received B grade)
2014 - $4500 (received B grade)
Not sure of the max grade that I can hit if I work long enough in the public sector. I am currently doing part-time masters at NUS and is due to graduate in second quarter of next year. Thinking of joining the private sector next year for better opportunities. Anyone can advise?

Can anyone verify? Thot these r lobo jobs, so why so many quit? I am thinking of applying.

May I know how far can I go in civil servant env as in possible to go to MX10 or higher? And how long to take to jump to the next level?
|
I left the civil service 10 years ago but looking at my non-scholar friends' progression I think it's definitely possible to advance to MX10.

Many of these stat boards are glorified 'event' companies.
Tight deadlines, weekend shifts, demanding & flickle minded bosses.
So many stay for a year or two, get their bonuses & leave. Some of the staff who left plays music chairs & rotate among the stat boards.
Garmen jobs not as lobo, cushy & 8-6pm as it was in our parents' time. Now w iphone. You are forever hooked to office via whatsapp or email.

I think nobody in this forum will know the answer. Even if they do I doubt they will say out in here.
