You probably need a miracle of the system or a deviation submission by your boss to push for your promotion.

generally you need 2 above average grades for promotion. assuming C is average, and your last year is C+, then a C+ the following year will give you a promotion.

Your boss can also push for your promotion, if you do not meet the 2 consecutive abv avg grade. but that usually means you will be receiving avg grade +2 grade, as it does not make sense for your boss to recommend your promotion, saying you are too good for your current grade, but only give you a 1 grade abv avg

3 years ish MX12, contract ending EOY, RO already said emplacement unlikely due to limited headcounts + on special budget. (already warned during interview 3 years ago, so that's fair). Average performer of C, came in from non-civil service with 3 years experience elsewhere.

Have been sending resumes out for half a year and have been asking for MX11 under fresh hire policy, with reasonings that experience (domain knowledge in both previous job and this) is relevant. Today got an HR offer for another MX12 in a ministry outside. Not really keen based on the JD and was hoping they'd offer a promotion, plus they count as lateral hire so no pay bump etc.

I still have interviews/written tests lined up, including one posting from an ex-RO (whose posting is interesting that I want). I had spoken to public service career coaches before that fresh hire with a promotion is possible.

Qn to the senpais:
- how much bargaining grounds do I have with the current offer in asking for promoted grade/pay bump?
- What are the implications if I request to be hired under fresh hire?

U have 3 years of c and not emplaced. They dun see u someone who can go next grade….hard to show that you can perform with MX11 grade…u want to go up to MX11….work up from MX12….that is the life of a farmer

See ur boss want to push u for promotion…..if he/she want…will give u a c+ and promote you

For typical farmers i would say around 12-15 years

Still earning under 5-figures basic, but over 120k per annum. When I first reached it:

Male / 7.5 YOE / Bachelor's degree with honours from a local uni
