The salary range across all ministries is the same except for MINDEF.
So you can ask your gf.

Hi everyone, I would like to get your advice on whether you have successfully negotiated your salary for an engineering position with one of the ministries. For context, I am currently with the private sector as an enginner with about 5 YOE and am now considering an offer from this particular ministry. I am also waiting for my professional interview with PEB to be a professional engineer.
The issue is that the salary they have offered is 10% lower than my current drawn. The HR does acknowledge that the offer is low but mentioned that this excludes the different bonuses (annual variable component, non-pensionable annual allowance and performance bonus). However, even based on the total compensation that HR mentions, this only comes out to at most a 3.5% increment from my current package. And the bonuses are not guarantee.
While waiting for the offer to come in, the interviewer had personally reached out to check in with me on the position. Therefore, I'm considering talking to him first regarding the packaging rather than going to the HR. Would you recommend that I take this approach?
I knew that traditional engineering in singapore does not pay well but i did not expect such an offer from a ministry.
Thanks for reading.

Are titles at WSG deflated? I thought MX11a is an AD role, not the principal manager offered.

Based on my understanding, MX11A can be AD or Principal Manager. The latter usually has no RO responsibilities i.e. you are still an individual contributor.

When it comes to work trips, do Directors in stat boards fly on business class, are they allowed to accumulate miles, and can they extend their work trip or bring their spouses along (of course paying for their own share)?

it isnt based on title but whether the pay grade is superscale equivalent. only superscale is entitled to business class for work trips

Not all jobs will require overseas travel.
