I know this might sound rude, but not my intention. My comparison was with the TECH industry, that generally pays higher. Hence 5.3 is not really 'high' for a tech role (even fresh grad).
I know that 5.3 is higher than most entry level gov jobs.

Tech salary will gradually reduce when there are more and more comp sci or comp eng graduates. Enjoy while it last.

That's true! No hard feelings.
I guess the real indicator should be total compensation.

Seriously, do not be blinded by salary at the start of your career. What u should be considering is how to upskill and reach the peak at the shortest time possible.
The amount of money u can earn at the peak of ur career and the duration where u stay at the top of ur game, will be the key to how much money u can earn.
Place yourself in an uncomfortable environment if it means u can learn and hit your peak in the shortest amount of time. That's when the real money will start rolling in.
Look at the bigger picture!

got offered job
HR told me if they used MX scheme my pay would be lower. They said my degree did not matter. Graduated part-time degree from SUSS
Hence I was offered a technical support scheme at 4200, I'm 34 this year. Is this a good offer??

Lol in HTX there this dude with SUSS part time degree and 6 years of post grad private experience, offered XT7 with minimum salary of 7k. He is probably 2 years younger than u. What do u think?
