What would be a polite way to tell your boss that this work is beyond your pay grade (diploma) and you don't see a point in doing weekend excel classes because even if you did your best you would never be considered for a promotion to a degree level job before your graduation from a pt degree course?
Serious question

Job hopping to a higher substantive grade and salary range
Any public service HR staff or experienced staff can advise if it is possible for a public service new hire to be given a substantive grade higher than their previous public service substantive grade? e.g. an MX11 job hopping to a MX11A position? or MX11A job hopping to a MX10 position?
Thanks!

I reckon it would be hard, if there isn't some kind of justification such as additional certification earned, or some private sector experience in between. This is as the new agency would simply refer to your last grade at previous agency and if there isn't any strong justification to hire you at the next grade, they won't.

I am not in a MX scheme , but I am a AM in LTAp. Is it possible for me to ask for MX 11 in the new agency when my current salary already exceeded the ceiling of MX 12? Thanks, any kind soul here can advice me please.
