Hi to all the exp'ed seniors here,

I'm in the process to applying for a stat board job under Min of Trade and Ind e.g. spring etc.

NUS Eng 2nd Lower with Minor in Business Fresh Grad
NS completed
Grad in Dec '11

May i know what is the starting salary and projected salary say for 1st 3 years, 2012,2013,2014?

Grad in Jul '10

2010: $35xx
2011: $38xx (1yr anniversary from join date)
2012: ?? (Hope can promote otherwise sian 1/2)

So what do u think i shld ask for given its 2012? $3300? or otherwise?

maybe $3300-$3400....
anyway increment is based on your appraisal grade...
jus curious why u wanna join govt and specifically a stat board under MTI?

There is definitely. You can see previous posts for the percentage increment based on your appraisal.

hah no la...for my stat board the grades are A+/A/B+/B/C+/C/C-/D/E
most ppl are C+/C, in fact for newcomers usually they give C, I was fortunate my boss gave me B.
i am not interested in technical details of eng. and anyway that was my first job offer and pay is rather gd...
for MTI stat boards they work closer with the industries while MTI more focussed on policy-making. i also think closer to industry would be more interesting.
U got any preference on which stat board?

is PB tied to state of economy ????

ive hearing contrasting views on this issue

some pple say that a B grade in a great yr (awesome GDP growth) = more PB than a B grade in a yr where we r in the midst of a recession....
