MX11A 7500 (6.5 - 8.1?)

Will be 400, 275, 600

Of cause there be variances within the grade hence the range, but comparing like to like (lower range MX12 vs lower range MX11 vs lower range MX11a and same for mid/upper range) will probably yield similar results. Annual difference of a few thousands.
Your midpoint used for each mx is not quite accurate .. using the real average point for each mx grade, it’s actually:
396, 295, 568

For better accuracy between 13(I) and 13…these are the actual numbers.

*Increment*
MX 14 = 10%
MX 13(I) = 5%
MX 13 = 10%
MX 12 = 9%
MX 11 = 5%
MX 11A = 8%
MX 10 = 8%

Yeah exactly. The reduced MI was abt 50% less for the past two years. And now the increment don't even make up for this. Quite disappointed that they applied a broad brushstroke for this exercise instead of looking at years of service and workload at each level.

Not OP but doesn't really change anything. Got to use the actual range down to 4sf if you want accurate figures 😂

I think it's understandable that MX11 are upset, I will be too if my grade is one of the only two groups with 5% increase and the group before and after got 9% and 8% respectively. Ouch.

This is as good as saying that, when I am MX 12, my peers are earning significantly more than me but I bridged that gap considerably when my peer and I both promoted to grade 11 or its equivalent, only for my peer to pull that gap apart again when we both promoted to grade 11A or it’s equivalent.

Promotion increment and yearly increment are known to be rather fixed in CS. So what are the chances that the grade 12 CS officer bridged that gap considerably when both promoted? Because it certainly implied that the private gave peanuts to employee when they promote from 12-equivalent to 11-equivalent, hence allowing the CS peer to catch up. I am not saying that it is impossible, but for the job market as a whole… I ask again, really?
Agree. Similar principle but looking at it from within the govt agency, the salary of those promoted from MX12 to MX11 this year may only end up 1-3% higher compared to if they stayed in MX12?

This means that if a MX12 is promoted next year instead of this year, they will have a higher overall salary in 2023?

[(Base * MI * 9%) in 2022] * [(MI+PI) in 2023]

vs

[(Base * (MI+PI) * 5%) in 2022] * MI in 2023?

Someone let me know if the formula is wrong.

So the MX12 teammate with similar salary but promoted next year will have higher salary than the 1-year-old MX11?

And what accounted for such a significant difference of 5% vs 8-9%, when in terms of experience, YOE, workload, level of responsibility, 11 and 11A are very similar. MX13 and 12 are somewhat in the same basket since the former is a fresh grad and the latter a confirmed/relatively new officer, junior executives. Let’s not talk about MX10 as they are typically appointment holders or what you would call ‘managers’ (aka middle management). Then in between are the 11 and 11A, the senior executives - the sandwiches. Hence I wonder how the pegging was done to result in such difference.

Make no mistake, this is not aimed at 11A or any other grade. I have very good friends and colleagues in other grades including 11A and I am genuinely happy for them as we had gone through thick and thins together. But it would definitely put more minds at ease if the difference could be accounted, because the magnitude of it doesn’t make sense.

I have a question, appreciate if any kind souls could advise. I was recently re-designated from Senior Asst Director to Deputy Director with no change in pay etc. At Ministry.

Does any know if the promotion is an actual one (i.e. it affects your PB, increments etc), or is it just in "name"? It is confusing also because at grade 11/11A, if you move from 1 rung to another, its an official promotion. However, SADs and DDs both sit at grade 10, granted the pay brackets are different.

TIA.

Redesignation is not a promotion but i have seen cases where asst managers become managers, which are two different pay brackets and MX levels. best to confirm with your HR and congrats on achieving DD
