However, have to forfeit my years in service and AWS. Worth to go for resign and join in this case?

If I work in a ministry for a year and I left the ministry for a high paying job in the private sector , would it be harder to go in if I would like to go back to the ministry in 2-3 years down the road ? Was just afraid that it would affect my chances of going back to ministry / stat board as I only work for a year .

I would say go for the jump if you were to see in a long term , the 15percent increment would cover your AWS in maybe around 6 months time ? And years of service technically only affects your annual leave eligibility and your extended sick leave . So ya if you were to ask me I will say take the switch .

No of course . But I will say if you have a suss part time degree, it would be advisable for you to gain more experience outside maybe in the private sector before coming in to the gov sector . Since the cert is not good as NTU or NUS, you can make up for it by having relevant experience . In that way you would be able to have higher salary .

Im like u, now in ministry, then got offer from start board with a good increment. I asked to start new job in feb 2022 so that i can keep my AWS, and they are agreeable to it. But years of service have to restart la..means PB next year pro-rated.. sacrifice PB but get AWS.. u can try ask ur new statboard can start next year or not..

Im like u also, diploma holder in ministry for 5 years plus, took me like 5 years after i get my degree before i finally get a degree post in a stat board. Im also a private degree holder. What i can say diploma path and degree path sure got diff, from diploma u want rise up to degree post will take super long, unless u high flyer and boss like u, else just take a private degree and jump ship to get to a degree post.
